Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) provides customized forging, machining and services specializing in crankshafts. ECG is committed to creating a safe and healthy working environment so that our team can focus on working with customers to comply with the highest ethical and quality standards. We pride ourselves on being efficient and focused on customer delivery, service and commitment. We strive to be responsive and extremely flexible in order to grow together with our partners.

Our products include engine and pump crankshafts, power generation, complex shafting, compressors and mechanical crankshafts. Steelmaking, forging and heat treatment of crankshafts

ECG utilizes state-of-the-art vacuum degassing, calcium treatment and steelmaking capabilities to produce up to 77 tons of cylindrical and big-end cone, fluted steel ingots. Ellwood's ingot capacity, melting capacity and chemical precision are unmatched.

The uniqueness of ECG is that we use our multi-directional press to provide continuous grain flow forgings of 3m to 7m. We provide 1m to 3m closed die crankshaft forgings on our impact hammers. In addition, we also provide crankshafts up to 12m long, using the Ellwood clean steel process approved by the maritime agency and OEM.

ECG uses a controlled furnace and a complete test function to provide a complete heat treatment function. We also provide industry-leading processes such as vertical stress relief. In addition, all crankshafts with welded counterweights are welded before heat treatment to provide the best bond between the counterweight and the crankshaft base material. Semi-finishing and finishing capabilities

ECG has a wide range of semi-finishing processing capabilities, with nine large roughing crank mills, which can significantly shorten the market delivery time. We use both outer wheel and inner wheel technology to achieve maximum material removal rate and flexibility.

ECG has two large machining workshops, which can finish machining more than 6,000 large crankshafts every year. These functions utilize the latest technology, with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches as the standard working range. Crankshaft inspection for shipping industry

ECG assumes full responsibility from steelmaking to final inspection using a fully calibrated micrometer. ECG has a CMM for repeating crankshafts up to 3m.

ECG has the most advanced induction hardening capability and is suitable for crankshafts with a diameter of 320 mm and a total length of 8 meters. We have the ability to control the process of producing hardened undercut fillets as needed. Vertical gas nitriding for crankshaft manufacturing

ECG is the only crankshaft manufacturer in the world with vertical gas nitriding capability, with a total crankshaft length of up to 8m. We have four large containers, and each furnace load can handle seven large crankshafts. In 2009, the most advanced ammonia combustion device was installed. In addition, ECG has also invested in the main crankshaft elevator system. Nitride ion pump and compression crankshaft

ECG provides ion nitriding pumps and compression crankshafts for various original equipment manufacturers. Mask non-critical surfaces to ensure that only required areas are case hardened. ECG provides test samples to ensure that each load is properly tested according to the customer's specifications. Rough crank rolling mill

ECG has a world-class crank roughing machine that can process cranks from 3m to 12m and weighs up to 40t. We have a combination of outer turbines and inner turbines, which can provide almost unlimited capacity for semi-finishing large crankshafts. Since 2004, ECG has retrofitted and modernized five rolling mills and purchased a new in-house roughing machine.

ECG forging and heat treatment are impressive, using the most advanced controls and processes (including heating simulation) to produce a continuous particle flow crankshaft with a circumference of 700 mm. ECG invested in modern power supplies and induction coils to eliminate changes in the forging process.

We also performed important induction heating simulations to ensure good practice for the forging press. We also take advantage of the same technology by using the latest forging simulation. ECG is able to simulate the forging process before the actual forging part to ensure that we produce the forged part correctly the first time. Company link www.ellwoodcrankshaftgroup.com
