The 2022 Dubya World Vet Championship will take place on November 4-6 and every amateur rider will get in more track time and a chance to save money below.

The 38th Annual Dubya World Vet Motocross Championships will take place November 4th through the 6th. This is one of the sport’s most popular events with over a thousand riders traveling from every state in the union and over 20 different countries to compete for a prestigious World Vet Championship title. For 2022 we are looking forward to having more countries participate (given that the pandemic in 2020 and Visa restriction in 2021 stopped most foreign racers from showing up).

Swedish Grand Prix and ISDT racer Lars Larsson will be at the 2022 World Vet in hopes of winning his fifth World Vet crown—his win streak began back in 2001 when he won the Over-60 Expert class, he then won the  won the Over-70 class in 2011 (and repeated in 2012) and last year Lars took the Over-80 crown in 2021. The ten-year pattern (2001, 2011 and 2021) coincided with his 60th, 70th and 80th birthdays.

After a successful, but very busy race last year, we listened to your suggestions and we are excited to announce an all-new race format. The 2022 Dubya World Vet Motocross Championship will have a new three-moto format where riders will have one day of practice (Friday) and two days of competitive racing (Saturday and Sunday) to crown the World Vet Champion of each class. By changing to this format, we should be able to keep from cutting any laps and even have time to clean up the rougher sections of the track between motos.

Glen Helen builds a special track every year just for the World Vet. Look at this photo and try to figure out what’s going on here.

Racing will begin Saturday morning with all amateur classes racing. We will race halfway into the second motos and then finish the 2nd and 3rd motos on Sunday. The Over-40 Pros, Over-50 Pros and Over-30 Pasha 125 Pros will race two motos for the championship on Saturday. On Sunday the Over-30 Pro class and Over-50 Pasha 125 Pros will race. The World Vet Cup of Nations will be held again this year with the first moto on Saturday and a second moto on Sunday. Be on the lookout, a tentative race schedule will be posted a few weeks before the event.

Trevor Nelson (with camera), Josh Mosiman (12) and Josh Fout (92) just finished working together at the Pala 450 National last Saturday and will be teaming up at Hangtown this coming Saturday, but they never miss the World Vet. Josh Mosiman won the Over-25 Championship in 2021.

The Dakar series gear is a blend of durability and airflow, featuring massive adjustable vents on the pant legs in addition to multiple stretch panels, leather overlays, and heavy duty 840D Cordura in key areas. The pant is offered in over-the-boot and in-the-boot versions. The redesigned Mojave series pushes the balance towards airflow while maintaining durability, with pants featuring new highly durable Karbonite Mesh also found in KLIM’s Induction series of street motorcycle gear. Light colors reduce heat absorption in sunlight. Other key materials and a pair of pockets are shared with the Dakar Pant. The redesigned Mojave Jersey features a more open mesh body material for more airflow, while upgrading to the same durable sleeve material found in the Dakar.

Available in Striking Petrol, Peyote Desert, Electric Blue and Gray—Retail Prices: Jersey $69.99 / ITB Pants $209.99 / Pants $239.99

Still, durability isn’t pushed aside with leather overlays and durable fabrics in high wear areas.

MAVTV suffered an epic fail with their Pala National coverage. For those that persevered, MAV did put the race feed up on their web page, YouTube and the MX Sports website. The good news? They can’t do worse this Saturday.

For those of you who decided to skip Latin in school, which is pretty much everybody, Mea culpa translates from Latin as “through my fault.” And if anybody owes their customers an apology, it is MAVTV. They sold a service and didn’t deliver. It may not be as bad of an e coli outbreak at Chipotle, but no one should ever come between a hard-core motocross fan and the first National of the year. Above is MAV’s Facebook apology.

There were two major surprises so far in 2022 World Motocross Championship. Blendzall’s castor-based two-stroke oil is suitable for use in modern two-stroke engines utilizing an electronic fuel-injection system like KTM’s Transfer Port Injection (aka TPI). Castor has superior lubricating ability of other conventional or full synthetic oil. Because of its high film strength, Blendzall’s #555 Ultra TPI oil is able to withstand the lean oil ratios configured in TPI-based fuel systems. In simple terms, the Blendzall Ultra TPI translates into a bike that runs better, cleans out faster, and smells better than the stock oil. The retail price is $16.95 a quart at www.blendzall.com or your local dealer.

The FIM World Motocross Championship promoters “regret to inform that the MXGP of Jakarta that was set to host the 13th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship on the 2nd and 3rd of July has been canceled. Despite the best efforts by the local organizer, it has not been possible to secure the proper running of the event for this year. The FIM looks forward to returning to Jakarta for the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship,” but for now the focus is on the other MXGP of Indonesia which will take place in Samota-Sumbawa on the June 26. Plus, if you haven’t noticed, Oman will host the final MXGP of the year on September 4.

The World Vet returns on November 4-6, 2022. The most thrilling and chilling section of Glen Helen is the 70 mph charge to the steeply banked 180-degree first turn.
